I suck at this blogging thing.
I like Blogger, I just don't feel the sense of community that I felt when I was on AOL journals.
Anyway.
My life has been too boring to blog about.
We went to Scott's niece's house for Memorial Day. Scott had to work so he didn't get to go. It was so nice to go to a party where I didn't do all of the cooking.
Tyler is now out of school. He didn't do very well again this year...but there are definite signs of improvement in his maturity level. He passed 4 out of 5 of the state tests he needs to graduate. The one he failed he missed by 1 point. He is rarely home these days. He has the typical busy social life of a teenager.
Brianna is working a lot of hours at a local amusement park. There is so much I would like to write about here. But I can't. We fight now more than ever. I am totally opposed to who she is in love with. They are controlling. And immature. And not good enough for Brianna. She is living with this person. And I think she is too young to be in this situation. She wants me to let her make her own mistakes and learn from them. I try...but so hard to keep my mouth shut most days.
Scott and I are already starting to feel like we are empty-nesters. We spend most evenings alone. We play a lot of Wii. I kick his butt in darts, he kicks mine in every other game Wii could ever invent.
I babysat my sister's kids last Saturday night. I was kind of nervous because Tyler usually comes with me to occupy the boys (8 and 6). I walked in and the oldest said "oh, you are flying solo today, huh?" Cracked me up. My niece is almost 7 months old now. And too freaking cute for words. I will have to post a pic of her when I can. The evening went well, though. The baby had cried all day, so she was an angel for me. The boys watched cartoons with me, and played on the laptop. And did a dance for me. And they conned me into making them triple dip ice cream cones. Because I made the mistake of telling them I used to work at an ice cream store. Then I had to clean ice cream out of the 6 year old's nose when he was done eating.
Still doing well on the Lamictal. Well, except for the rash I developed that I had to see my family doctor for because it can cause a rash that can kill you. No stress there, right?? I called my psychiatrist as soon as I saw some spots and left a message that basically ended with "I am really freaking out here...call me back." And then when I had to see my family doctor (a new one) I had to tell her that I have an anxiety disorder and "I am really freaking out here!!" Good times, good times. The rash is gone now, thank goodness.
I am on Facebook now. I tried to resist it. But it is kind of cool catching up with my family's daily lives. Without, you know, having to actually talk to them...lol. I also re-connected with a best friend from high school, and a cousin I haven't seen in about 25 years.
Does anyone here Twitter? I know it is huge right now...but I just can't get into it. Probably because I have no cell phone. I know people who twitter (tweat?) all day long. Seems very time consuming to keep up with everyone else on there too. Maybe I am just getting old, and it is really a lot of fun.
I am going to try to be more regular. On here, that is. Ha.

Because I love them so.....

What bill do you hate paying the most? all of them

Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner? Ha. Ha. Ha. Not since we were dating.

What do you miss about being a child? The innocence. Long summer days spent just playing. The excitement of a new school year. Believing in Santa.

What errand/chore do you hate? cleaning toilets

What do you get every time you go into Walmart? usually a headache : ) I rarely go, usually only at Christmas. Or to buy camping stuff.

Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual? Not at all. I wish everyone who wanted to be married, could be.

What famous person would you like to have dinner with? Denzel Washington. I admire him as an actor. And he's gorgeous. But beyond that, I really admire that he has stayed married in a career where they don't often last long. And he seems to fly under the radar and stay out of the limelight. I like that.

Where would you like to go in California that you have never visited? San Francisco. My fear of flying is the only thing that has stopped me from going.

At this point in your life would you rather start a new career, or a new relationship? definitely a new career

Do you have a go-to person? For....??? For ranting/venting...yes, I have someone for that.

Are you where you want to be in life? No. I would like to be more financially secure and prepared for retirement. Oh, and be done with school and have a job/career.

Over the years, what do you think has changed the most about yourself? my weight : ) I have changed so much since my 20's. I was a wild child. I am at peace now.

Looking back at high school, were they the best years of your life? lordy, no. It was fun...but not the best by any stretch of the imagination.

Are there times when you still feel like a kid? yep

Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager? I lived in a rural area, so sporting events were huge. And everyone "cruised" McDonalds parking lot in the next town over. Because there are no McDonalds in my town. Still.

Who do you think impacted your life the most? My kids

Do you tell stories that start with "when I was your age?" Sigh. Sadly, I do.

What is the scariest thing that happened to you as an adult? We were at a flea market buying a puppy, and in the excitement, Tyler wandered off. He was in the next booth. But I have never felt that level of fear in my life. It almost felt like an out of body experience.

What advice would you give to someone about to get married? You think you are in love now, but you have no idea. True love comes from years together. From dealing with sickness and health issues, and late bills, and crying infants, and the death of a parent. True love is seeing the other person's faults and still knowing you would not want to be anywhere else in the world. And that it is work. Hard work. Totally worth it...but happiness doesn't just happen. Oh, and to laugh. Alot.

What advice would you give to someone starting their first job? Uhh, don't sleep with the boss : )

If you could go back and change one thing you did, what would it be? Marrying my ex-husband.

If you could go back and change one thing someone else did, what would it be? Brianna moving out

I have been MIA lately due to computer/phone line issues. I think/hope that they finally fixed the problem. Now I just need Brianna to come and hook the DSL back up. Because I am technologically challenged.
Last Sunday we had kind of an eventful night. Scott and I had fallen asleep downstairs watching TV. I was woken up by this huge, and I mean huge boom. It shook the walls. And sent me into instant panic. I screamed at Scott that "the house just blew up!" In my defense, I was positive it had. I ran upstairs and got Tyler up. Scott looks around and sees nothing. By this time he is convinced that I was dreaming. I was shaking so bad and crying (my reaction to danger, I guess...lol) so I knew it was real. I made him keep looking. He went out back and said...."Oh, come here quick!" I assumed that the grill had blown up since we had cooked that night. Nope. At the edge of the tree line in the distance we could see smoke and flames. There is a small airport near us and planes have crashed before, so we thought it was that. We found out on the morning news that a chemical plant had caught fire and exploded.
The scary part of all of this: Scott and Tyler did not wake up from the noise. There is no way that a fire alarm, tornado siren, or a break in will ever wake them up. So now I feel like the guardian of the night. Or something.
Scott even had the nerve to make fun of me for being so panicked and waking him up. Hello, I thought THE HOUSE HAD EXPLODED.

Anyway, no one was killed in the explosion, thank goodness.

Because we all love them so much, and by we...I mean me....

1. My uncle once.....worked on a top secret project at the Air Force base near here. Supposedly there were martians in a hangar. He never told us what was really there.

2. Never in my life: will I skydive, bungee jump, base jump, or anything else than involves falling without the guarantee of a safe landing.

3. When I was 17: I thought I was fat and ugly. I was neither. I was, however, extremely shy.

4. High School was: ehh. Senior year rocked, the rest was pretty dull.

5. I will never forget: the births of my children

6. I once met: Jacques Cousteau. It was in the 70's. He did a show on marine life. He happened to have his boat at the same place we went to for a boat ride. I wanted to be a marine biologist after meeting him.

7. There's this girl I know who: is 44, who wonders how in the hell that happened!!!

8. Once at a bar: I ran into Icky Woods (a former Bengals football player). He was a conceited jerk. He was dancing with some girl, and I got behind him and told him to stick to the Icky shuffle (his touchdown dance) since his dancing sucked.

9. By noon: I am almost ready to start the day. I am a night owl, not a morning person.

10: Last night: I went to bed at 4 am

11. If only I had: a winning lottery ticket laying around here somewhere....

12. Next time I go to church: be prepared, a certain place might be freezing over soon after. Unless Tyler wants to go...then I would. For him.

13. What worries me most: take a seat and grab a drink. LOL. Way too many things. Here is a list of what I worried about JUST when we were driving to Florida: the economy is bad..why are we going, will Scott have work when this job is done, will it rain, will we wreck, will we hate it, will I be too fat to ride anything, what if I have a panic attack in the middle of nowhere, where are the hospitals on the way, what if Scott gets bored driving and falls asleep, oh crap he has a basketball game on the radio..what if he forgets he's driving, what if a cop pulls us over and puts us in jail for no reason, what if Scott has a heart attack while he is driving, what if we hate Disney World, we spent too much on this trip, what if the house burns down while we are gone, or someone robs us, what if his nephew forgets to feed the pets, did I remember to put my purse back in the car after we stopped last time, is my wallet in there, what if we go over the side of the mountain in Tn, WHY is he using cruise control...he knows I hate it, what if we get stuck at this speed, what if I pee my pants because there is no bathroom close, why did Scott take the stuff I need out of the car before we left, did I remember my pills, did I remember the tickets and stuff we need, WHY is he driving so fast, what if I have a heart attack on the drive, if we wreck will the paramedics decide I am too fat to save, will this thing roll if we wreck.......and on and on and on. Just be glad you don't have to be in my head, people, be very glad.

14. You know I am lying when: I say my family all gets along really well

15: What I miss most about the 80s: my youth : )

16. By this time next year: I hope to be almost done with school

17. A better name for me would be: Moonbeam, Harmony, Freedom, Sage, Skye, Meadow, Leaf....I was born in the 60's....I totally got robbed of a really cool hippy name!!!!

18. I have a hard time understanding: most math beyond algebra and geometry. And the stock market. It gives me a headache to think about it.

19: You know I like you if: I talk to you. Or email you. Or answer the phone when you call. Or comment in your blog.

20: If I ever won an award, the first person I'd thank would be: my adoring fans, of course ; )~

21. Take my advice, never: take my advice.

22. My ideal breakfast is: sausage, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and pancakes with strawberries. Unfortunately, I usually have some type of yogurt for breakfast.

23. If you visit my hometown, I suggest: making new plans. No hotels or motels, no fast food, no stores, or grocery. There is a bed and breakfast, a tea room and a really cool home cooked type restaurant, though if you must go.

24. If you spend the night at my house: we can watch movies, or Nick at Nite and eat ice cream.

25. I'd stop my wedding for: a death in the family

26. The world could do without: black jelly beans and broccoli

27: I'd rather lick the belly of a cockroach than: that's disgusting.

28: If I do anything well, it's: spelling. My kids used to test me all the time. I am also a great babysitter.

29: And by the way: Happy Earth Day...go plant a tree or something.....

Friday, April 10, 2009

It is windy, rainy, and cold today. My favorite kind of day : )

It is going to be nice all weekend, though. I hope to get the yard cleaned up and do some work on it. We have areas that need seeded. And the grass we do have needs cut, badly. I think I am going to do a very small scale garden this year, too. I bought some long flower planter things and I am going to use those. I am just doing some herbs, onions, peppers, and tomatoes.
Exciting reading here, huh? lol
Not much going on, as usual. I miss the routine of a job. Never thought I would say that.
No holiday plans here. Brianna is going out of town with her friend. I think it is the first holiday without her. We haven't been getting along very well lately. She is 19 and knows everything, though.
I feel very blah. I hope this is not how the meds are making me feel. Not good or bad, just...meh.
Our dog Tito (yellow lab) is driving me nuts. He chases the cats around. He isn't hurting them...but playing with them like toys. I bought him a stuffed monkey to play with instead. He loves stuffed animals. He has chewed up about 5 so far.
Oh, and we have a mouse. All these cats and we have a mouse! We moved the cat tree thing over by where it peeks out...but those lazy things will probably just watch it.

I am off to do exciting things like housework and laundry...I know, I know, the excitement is almost too much to take.

Because I love them.....

What is your current obsession? Getting my house de-cluttered. Verryyy difficult for someone like me who can focus on a task for about 15 minutes.

Do you nap alot? Too much. Depression is very exhausting.

What's for dinner? Baked chicken, a frozen cheese potato dish that looked good, and green beans.

What is your favorite weather? Kind of windy, and cloudy. A Winnie the Pooh blustery kind of day : )

What's on your bedside table? Sigh, it's a mess. Books, clock, lotions, and other crap.

If you could have a house that is totally paid for, fully furnished, anywhere in the world, where would you want it to be? Upstate New York. Huge house with woods in the back, and a lake.

Favorite vacation spot? Right now, Disney World.

Name the things you can't live without. books, satellite tv, washer & dryer, fridge, indoor plumbing, etc., etc. Think about it....it would suck to not have the everyday conveniences we take for granted.

What would you like to get rid of? Hatred and prejudice. I simply can't comprehend disliking someone for the color of their skin, or their religious beliefs, or who they choose to love. If there is any judgment to be made, it is not for us to do. Simplistic view, probably, but that is how I feel.

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? Siesta Key, Florida. Just hang out on the beach and relax.

What did you want to become as a child? A Dallas Cowboys cheerleader (I think I saw a movie about them), a marine biologist who studies sharks, a singer, a piano player, a model, a nun (eh, I am Catholic), and a mom.

What are you reading right now? True Believer by Nicholas Sparks, and books on Disney World to plan our next trip

What object can you look at, and smile, and feel yourself relaxing? the ocean

What is your favorite brand of jeans? I hate jeans. They are just too confining for my tastes. I have issues.

What designer piece of clothing would you most like to own? No clothing, but I do love designer purses and bags.

I have nothing to say, so post an entry I shall. : )

I can't do a Disney World entry until my DSL is working again. Having dealt with the phone company 3 times about this now, when that will be is unclear. My phone line works sporadically, also. They keep telling me it is fixed, though. Obviously , they are morons.
We had a really good band of thunderstorms roll through last night. Now it is really cold. And snow flurries are expected next week. Hello, lovely April.
Tyler is on spring break this week. He has spent most of the time playing basketball at the Y. He plays about 4 times a week. He has lost almost 30 pounds in 2 months. I am just glad he is exercising regularly. Ya know, like I should be.
I am so glad Brianna had a camera at Disney World. Who in the heck goes to the Magic Kingdom and doesn't take a good picture of the castle. That would be me, of course. I have pictures from the side of it. I think I was just so excited to be there I lost my head a lil...lol.
So far, so good with the new meds. I am in the midst of week 2 on them. No real side effects except mild/moderate nausea and really vivid dreams at night.
I hope everyone has a really great weekend : )

Not what I was expecting.
I had an appointment with my psychiatrist this week. He went over the reaction I had to the last med he gave me, and the fact that I haven't had really great success with any meds in the 13 years he has been treating me. He made me fill out a question sheet and then we talked again. He thinks I may be bipolar. My heart sunk to my feet. I cried. I feel there are more negative views with that diagnosis than with just depression/anxiety. Anyway. Apparently, you can stay in a depressed state for a looonnnggg time. Say, 13 years and counting...lol. He told me that some people with a bipolar 2 diagnosis may never cycle into a manic phase. I have done some reading and think I may have had some...but they are very brief.
I am actually kind of excited to know that there may be relief in my future. There is a really bad side effect to the meds he put me on but it is really rare. I might develop a rash that will need to be treated in a hospital or it can be very dangerous. I went to a website that has reviews from regular people and most of the feedback is very positive on this one. So, wish me luck!!
I was really scared to tell Scott about this. He really doesn't understand my anxiety/depression. But he was very nice about it and hopes this new med works well for me. When I told Tyler he said "That actually makes alot of sense. You go from laughing to yelling in seconds some days, mom". And Brianna said the same thing. So, I guess I ignored the signs for years.
**I understand there will be readers who don't believe in the psychiatric field and/or the need to take medicines to feel normal. All I ask is that you kindly respect my belief in them. Thanks : )

*** I will do a Disney entry this weekend sometime. Yes, with pictures.

Our Disney World vacation is only a memory now : (
We had a great time...but also an exhausting time. I thought I was prepared for this trip from reading message boards....but nothing can prepare you for how overwhelming the whole trip there can be. A few things I know to do differently next time. I will give a trip report when I feel better. Tyler and I both have some cold/flu/sinus thing going on. At the end of our vacation week I was sure I would never want to go back again. I am already planning another trip for November of next year. My sister was right....going there is like an addiction.
Toodles for now : )

Friday, February 27, 2009

I am definitely stopping the Cymbalta. I realize that I am not giving it enough time to work...but I just can't handle it. I feel like I am dying. My heart is racing, I am jittery, waves of panic attacks are hitting me, and I am sick to my stomach. I am kind of mad at myself for quitting so soon...but this just doesn't feel right.
The only plus that I can see in this right now is that I have no appetite at all when I am on it. I forgot to eat Wednesday. Completely forgot until late at night. That just ain't right : )
My doctor must hate me.
Because he is torturing me.
He put me on Cymbalta. He even gave me a month's supply. He neglected to tell me that there was 1 week of 30 mg., and 3 weeks of 60 mg. Well, I took the 60 mg. first. That was a fun night. The symptoms I have are vomiting and insomnia. Good times, good times. I took the 30 mg. today and the nausea still hit me 4 hours after I took it. I have never had this much trouble starting a new med. Now I feel sick and I don't know if it's a real sick or just a new med sick. Ugh.
My niece got whooping cough too. A mild case and she was already being treated for it. The stupid thing was that my sister was told the test was negative and then got called back saying it was positive. My dad is fine, thank goodness.
Tyler also got a letter saying there is an outbreak at his school. Good timing, ya know, since our vacation is soon. Our doctor called in an antibiotic and we have to go get booster vaccines. Not sure I want to do the vaccine thing since according to the CDC they are only effective for about 2-3 years anyway. My sister has talked to them and the health department all week since all of her kids got whooping cough.
The issues with Scott and the builder he works with got worked out, thank goodness. I just hope they continue to have work in the future.
My sister keeps bugging me to join Facebook. I did join for a day or two...but de-activated my account. I just don't get it. I guess I am not a networking type of gal. And twitter. I love to read them. I love the idea of it. I just can't think of anything so exciting in my life that I would need to tweet 30 times a day. Which some people do. I think I am getting old. I even call Tyler's music noise sometimes. When did this happen? lol
We just got a Sonic built here. Does anyone else have one near them? The food is okay...but they have slushies that are amazing. A strawberry limeade drink with real fruit in it. Lots of it. And they are half-price from 2-4 pm. My happy hour is now all about slushies. Yes, I do believe I have turned that corner to old age...lol.
Anyway, I am wandering verbally and mentally now so I will stop.
Have a great weekend everyone : )

A different kind of survey..... **Edited: I asked Scott if my answers were right when I was done....and I got them all right. Not without him giving me weird looks and wondering why the world needed to know any of this...lol**

Catching up....

Not much going on with me right now....just hating the weather and hoping for spring.

Scott is having issues with the builder he works with. I can't really go into it...but I just hope it works out well in the end. He may have to move on and work with other builders in the future. I am really stressed about being unemployed right now. I hate this feeling. If I was working I wouldn't worry so much about all of this.

Brianna is doing okay. She lost her job at the bakery but has a new job starting in April at an amusement park near us. She will be working in games where she has to talk alot. I can't imagine anything more perfect for her...lol. She is looking for a local part time job as well. She will find her way....I am sure of that.

Tyler has become a basketball playing fool. He joined the local YMCA and plays about 20 hours a week. He has lost 9 pounds in a month and is really getting into shape. He started a food and wellness class this quarter which has made him think more about what he eats and the exercise he gets. He has stayed out of trouble at school except for one incident last week. His grades are slowllyyyy improving. I did get a letter to attend some parent/teacher conferences this week...and I gotta say that I am nervous. I always feel like a bad mom when they talk to me. They try to make me feel like my kid is the only one that misbehaves in school.

Good thoughts and prayers sent my family's way would be appreciated. My nephews have whooping cough. Not really sure how since they have been vaccinated. I realize some kids in the school haven't been...but not sure how it spreads to others who have been. The elementary school he goes to is calling it an "outbreak" since many kids have it now. My dad has been exposed and got treated for it. His lungs are severely compromised (working at 30%) due to having COPD so this could be very serious if he didn't catch it in time. Also, my 2 month old niece has been exposed. She has had one round of the vaccine, though.

I actually wrote this entry a few days ago but I lost my internet connection. I forgot that Blogger saves them as you go. I have to say, that is one of the features that I really like on here.

Amanda did an entry on 10 things that make everyday life just a little bit better for her. You can read her list here: i am mommy: 10 Small Things.

And on to my list. These aren't earth shattering things...but they do make every day just a lil nicer : )

1. My Envoy. I know how materialistic this sounds so I decided to get it out of the way first. I love driving it. Love it! Just taking Tyler to school in it is fun for me.

2. Blogs. I love reading them all. Even the ones I don't comment in. It makes me feel more connected to the world. Not to mention all of the great friends I have through mine. I am definitely blessed to have met them all.

3. Black Pepper. I could not live without this. The more, the better. I make my family sick with how much I put on my food.

4. Sweats. Maybe not a fashion statement...but I am all about the comfort thing.

5. Bleach. Spray form, liquid form, wipes...doesn't matter. I love the smell. And with cats in the house...I wipe down the counters a few times a day.

6. Books. Any book. I must have a book to read at all times. I have misplaced the Stephen King book of short stories ("Just Before Sunset") I was reading and it is driving me insane.

7. A good moisturizer. At the end of the day I feel like I am pampering myself when I use this. Right now I am in love with the Avon Anew line..but that could change at any time.

8. My camera. Although I haven't mastered using it and it is not the most expensive one in the world....I love being behind the camera.

9. Kitchen gadgets. All of them. I feel like a "real" cook when I use them.

10. 600 thread count sheets. I have one set and they are heaven. Although, I am equally happy with my flannel sheets that have snowmen on them. Again, the comfort thing.

I won't tag anyone, but feel free to make your list...I would love to read them!!

Home repairs.

Love 'em.
Ha.
I mentioned that my dryer broke the other day.
The next day....my washer backed up into the sink in our laundry room.
Great, just great.
I drain the water in the kitchen sink...only to see that the pipe underneath has sprung a leak.
And the laundry room sink is draining through that pipe. (No clue why it does that, just one of the many perks of the plumbing in this house).
I start pouring water out the kitchen window. (But not before I empty one pan right back into the sink. Yeah. Duh.)
Scott comes home to find me sobbing on the couch. I c-can't take one m-more thing g-going wrong here!" He is still confused as to why I felt the need to cry over plumbing.
Did I mention I hate when things don't work right? It makes me nervous and stresses me out.
The dryer guy came on Thursday and said that it might be an electrical problem and to wait on fixing the computer panel thingy on the dryer.
That sent me about over the edge. Visions of having to re-wire the whole house were floating in my head. I did alot of staring into space that evening.
The plumber came and fixed everything on Friday.
The electrician (friend of Scott's) come over on Saturday and put in a new breaker. And the dryer worked again.
Knock on wood....everything in my kitchen and laundry room is working as it should.
Just the way I like it.
The electrician is going to put in all new breakers real soon though. At least the house doesn't need re-wired!!

Monday, February 02, 2009

Heard in my house this evening:

"Can you please respect my need to grieve. I am mourning the loss of my dryer!"

I have wandered into the laundry room to stare at it.
I press the buttons in hopes that they will magically light up and return to normal.
It sits there and mocks me with it's silence.
Maybe it sensed that I secretly coveted the new LG steam dryers. The red ones.
Maybe it is on strike in protest of my cheating mind.
Lordy, do I love those steam dryers, though.
Sigh.
I am sorry Neptune...I really do love how you dry my clothes.
Please come back to me.
Mr. repairman will be here Thursday.
I have a feeling something went out on the panel...since no button will light up.
And I even ventured into my icky, creepy basement to check the circuit breaker.
THAT is how much I love my dryer!
I just hope it is cheaper to fix than to buy a new cheaper dryer.
Because I have tons of laundry to do.
Just because I love the dryer, that doesn't mean I use it as often as I should : )

Wow, it has been a long time since I posted an entry.
Not even sure why...except maybe the fact that January is one of the most boring, l..o...n...g months of the year.
February isn't much better.
I hate this time of year...can ya tell??
We have all recovered from the flu of '09. I still have a lingering cough. Which has me convinced I have lung cancer (even though I have never smoked) or congestive heart failure. Don't ask. Hypochondriac in da house here...lol. And, yes, I know those diseases are not funny in the least. I have to laugh at myself for my thoughts, though. Or go crazy from them. Laughing makes more sense to me.
Scott has to work every weekend from now until March. With the weather lately he has stayed home. I love that he can stay home if the weather is bad...I hate that he has to work so many weekends.
We had a pretty good (bad?) snow storm this past week. Well snow, ice, snow storms actually. Good times. I hate ice.
I am so glad that I stuck to what I wanted when I bought my Envoy. A few of the dealers made me feel stupid for wanting 4 wheel drive. It has really been a blessing though. I am a nervous snow driver and it really calms me down to know I have that. Yes, I am a chicken butt.
Countdown to Disney World now. I am ambivelant about the trip. Excited to go...but scared too. I am such a homebody that being away from home is a real stress for me...hopefully it will work out, though. I am planning most of it down to where we eat and what time we get up. I am not usually a planner...but I think it will make the trip easier if we can just enjoy it when we get there.
Not much else going on here.
Just me bored.
And feeling fat.
No, being fat actually.
I want to work out...but as usual the getting started is the hard part. We actually have a garage full of work out stuff....just have to clean out that side of the garage. Which is really hard to do when it is 4 degrees out most days.
My dog is officially a pony now. Thank goodness he stopped the biting he did as a young puppy. 'Cause his teeth are HUGE! He still tears up whatever he can find at night....but I am getting better at picking up before bedtime. Usually it is stupid stuff I would never think of though....like eating the cardboard box to the stand for Tyler's UFC bag. Never saw that one coming...lol.
Oh, and I had an appt. with my doctor to talk about going on a new antidepressant...took 2 months to get in...and it snowed that day and they were closed. Crap. I know what med I want to try....I just have to discuss it with him and see what he thinks. And see if it is cheap enough to actually buy every month. I have tried going without the meds...and it just doesn't work for me. I feel weak for admitting I need more...but I do. A friend of mine said that she actually felt normal on the med I am considering. I want to feel that too. I am not even sure what normal is anymore.
On a positive note I have started taking vitamins regularly. A multi one, and calcium, and fish oil (Omega 3) capsules that smell really bad. My family doctor suggested I take the last two. And I am looking into Vitamin D3 as well. I am slowly getting some energy back...so yay!!!

Have a great weekend everyone...ya know, all 3 of my readers...lol.

I can't believe it has been almost 2 weeks since I did an entry.
Brianna is doing well, but her hours at work got cut so who knows what happens now. She got sick yesterday but is off all weekend so I hope she recovers in time. I gave her a bag of the over the counter stuff I bought for us.
We have all been sick with the flu. Scott got it first and Tyler and I got it a couple of days later. Recovering now but it was rough for a few days. At one point I was ready to just throw us all in the car and go to the ER. Our fevers were 103* at that point but thankfully that did not last long.
It is freezing here. -9*. With the wind chill it is -30* or so.
Good times.
My cold water pipe is frozen in the kitchen.
I found out yesterday that the vent for my kitchen was closed.
Sigh.
Our bathroom and laundry room have about 0 insulation in them. That will be fixed this spring or summer. It feels like you are walking into Antarctica to do laundry.
I wish I were kidding.
There is frost on the door in there. On the inside knob.
I started doing laundry just to have the dryer keep it warmer in there.
My downstairs shower drain is frozen.
This happens every year.
Scott swears he will go in that area and wrap the pipes with something I can't remember right now this spring.
Tyler's asst. principal emailed me back and said Tyler needs a doctor's note for being off. Yeah, don't have one. Who goes to the doctor for the flu? Am I weird? You can't treat it with antibiotics anyway, so what's the point?
I am out of all liquid refreshments at this time. I hope Scott will stop for some on his way home because it is too freaking cold for me to go out there.
Next week it will be 20*. That will seem warm at this point.
It is -60* in parts of Alaska. Tyler and I were watching a segment on the news about it. A school principal came on to talk and said they don't cancel outside recess unless it is below -20*. WTF????? They must be a whole lot tougher than Ohioans because our state would close down at those temps. Seriously. There are whole cities listed as closed now because of the cold we have.

Have a happy weekend everyone : )

Things are so quiet without Brianna here.
I do not miss their arguing at all : )
And I am glad I get to sleep in all this week instead of taking her to work.
Selfish reasons, I know. Trying to see the positive in this, though.

Tyler finally got the new phone he wanted. He even helped pay for it with his Christmas gift money. He also got a weight bench and a UFC heavy bag thing to work out with. Well, we can all use that stuff actually. He also got clothes. He picked them out. We went on one of Macy's big sale Saturdays and got a great deal on them. We also got him some of those Fathead sports sticker things for his room. Those things are freaking huge!!
Brianna got Tinkerbell stuff, clothes, stuffed animal hippos (she loves them), and a new I Love Lucy doll.
They really didn't get alot, but I couldn't see spending alot with the economy the way it is. Not to mention Scott went every time I shopped and muttered about the bad economy every few minutes or so.
Brianna got me the first 5 seasons of The Waltons. Go ahead, laugh. But I love that show! She also got me 2 new books.
I got Scott a new coffeemaker, a griddle thing since he loves to make breakfast, and some beer mugs. I know...I am such a romantic gift giver, aren't I? LOL
I tried to return stuff last weekend but the stores were packed. It was worse than before the holiday. We did go to Lowe's and get more houses/buildings for my Christmas village. And they were 75% off...gotta love that!!!!
I still have not made my Christmas cookies. I think I am going to bake them and drop them off to people on New Year's Day. If I don't bake....I am going to have an overload of flour, sugars, and stuff here.
I dropped off my dad's gifts over the weekend. I got him lots of light bulbs (his kitchen and dining area were all out and he didn't ever go out and replace them) and a reed diffuser. I am the queen of practical gifts, I think.
I made up with my sister...kind of. A truce, I guess. I dropped off gifts for my nephews...football jerseys (Brett Favre Jets jersey and an Ian Manning jersey).
I think Tyler is going to a party tomorrow night. Scott and I never go out anymore. Probably because the only friends we have are co-workers or family...lol.

I hope everyone who goes out has a fun and safe New Year's Eve!

Christmas '08 is now officially my worst holiday ever. Brianna is moving out tomorrow. Tyler whined because he didn't get a new phone. Even though I told him I was getting it next week. I got nothing because Scott told me to buy myself something and I think that is stupid.
I didn't even put a tree up.
We had his family over yesterday and that went well, though. (Except for the fact that it rained all day and the dog kept tracking mud in every time I mopped the floor.) I got a pretty holiday basket and some lotions and candles from his family. Which shocked me and was just so nice. Also, I made a 29 lb turkey and had nothing left after everyone ate and took leftovers home. At least I know they like my cooking, right?
After unwrapping gifts and playing some Rock Band 2 (which does indeed rock) I went back to bed. For the day. Scott brought me dinner in bed and bottles of water at random. I have watched a bunch of crap TV all day. And napped alot.
I just put too many expectations on this day. I try to make everyone happy. I try to do everything. And I set myself up for failure every freaking time. A lesson learned I suppose. If I could just remember it next year.
Oh, well.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday full of family and fun.
